Trial For RUSH Guitarist's Daughter-In-Law Postponed
August 21, 2004Chris W. Colby of the Naples Daily News is reporting that a scheduled trial was postponed Friday (August 20) for RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson's daughter-in-law on a misdemeanor charge stemming from her New Year's arrest in a Naples hotel.
Collier County Judge Ramiro Mañalich set a Sept. 3 hearing for Michelle Zivojinovich, married to Justin Zivojinovich, son of Alex Lifeson, whose real name is Alex Zivojinovich. The judge will see then if attorneys for both sides are ready to take the case to trial or enter into a plea agreement.
Michelle, Justin and Alex Zivojinovich, all North Naples residents, were arrested New Year's Eve after a scuffle with Collier County sheriff's deputies at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples.
Michelle Zivojinovich, 30, faces one count of resisting arrest without violence, a charge that can result in a year in jail upon conviction. She has pleaded innocent.
Her attorney, Mike McDonnell, said the defense and state haven't completed the process of discovery, which is where prosecutors provide copies of the evidence it has against the defendant. Read more.
